The City of Cape Town is investing R20 million to rehabilitate portions of Ottery Road and Olieboom Road in Philippi. Ottery Road provides important links off Jakes Gerwel Drive and Govan Mbeki Drive to the Philippi horticultural and industrial area.

This project is vital in ensuring that the Philippi industrial area benefits from a quality road network which can cope with the high traffic the area now experiences.

This is an important and growing commercial node in Cape Town with two major food retailers’ distribution centres located there, and Olieboom Road being the key link to and from the Philippi horticultural area which generates a significant volume of fresh produce for the retail and wholesale markets.
