The 67th edition of the Lipton Cup Challenge kicks off today; Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Alderman Felicity Purchase was on hand to officially launch the 2019 race last night.
The new minibus-taxi facility in Masiphumelele is now open for business after nearly 10 months of construction work and the finalisation of an operating agreement with local minibus-taxi operators. The City has spent nearly R16 million on creating a modern and resource-efficient transport hub for taxi operators and commuters.

The City of Cape Town recently received an award from the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) for the rehabilitation of the Strand sea wall. The project was recognised for technical excellence in the Marine and Harbour Category. This new sea wall was designed to withstand storms by deflecting water and sand, and to endure the impact of climate change for the next 30 years.
